Here we are – closing in on Super Bowl XLII between the NY Giants and NE Patriots on February 3, 2008 to be held at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
So, who will win? Rumors of Tom Brady walking around in NY with an injured leg…Well, I guess you shouldn’t be walking around in NY when your opponent is NY! It is always good to be careful! You never know where, and when Michael Strahan can come and sack you!
Anyway, I still think that Brady can throw the ball with his one hand tied to his leg behind his back!
On February many will be glued to their TV to see, if the Patriots can make a history or will Tom Brady throw interceptions or get sacked.
The Super Bowl is known to drag along for ‘x’ amount of hours – with half-time shows, running commentaries, past histories, profiles and commercials (which don’t make any sense about the product being sold). Well, at least it will bring cheer to the faces who have been reeling under the bad news of our economy.
The viewership has increased in the last 10 Super Bowls, which has averaged viewership of 88.2 million, helped by the last two games having attracted more than 90 million each. In their three Super Bowls (in 2002, 2004 and 2005), the Patriots averaged 87.6 million; the Giants’ three (1987, 1991 and 2001) averaged 83.7 million. The possibility of seeing the Patriots finish 19-0 might shatter the record of 94 million set when the Cowboys and the Steelers met in Super Bowl XXX. (Source: NY Times)
Personally, I believe that the viewership for the Super Bowl Sunday will cross the 94 million mark (will probably be close to 100 million) as there is one group who want to see the Pats go 19-0, and there is another group who want to see them crushed.
Well, Giants win 30-27 – we are known to cheer the underdogs, eh?
